Abstract
Purpose: This research has been conducted in order to confirm the major factors that prediction organizational commitment in registered nurses. Method: The subjects were 350 registered nurses from 3 hospitals in Seoul. The sample for data collection consisted of 329 useable questionnaires (94% overall return rate) for 2 weeks. The Instrument tools utilized in this study were organizational commitment scale, empowerment scale, job stress scale and job satisfaction scale and thoroughly modified to verify validity and reliability. The collected data have been analyzed using SPSS 11.0 program. Three outliers which were bigger than 3 in absolute value were found, so after taking them off, Multiple Regression was used for further analysis, Result: The major factors that prediction organizational commitment in registered nurses were job satisfaction, empowerment, age and unit experience, which explained 51.9% of organizational commitment. Conclusion: It has been confirmed that the regression equation model of this research may serve as a organizational commitment prediction factors in Registered Nurses.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to describe and analyze about the degree of job satisfaction of nurses in a university hospital for basic data to develop the professionals and improve productivities, effectiveness in nursing practice. Methods: Design was the descriptive survey study. Sample were 97 nurses in K university hospital, and convenient sampling was used. Measures were job satisfaction of nurse for job satisfaction tool modified by Kim, S.N.(1998) and developed by Slavitt(1978). Data were collected from April 2005 to June 2005, and analyzed using SPSS PC+12 program. Descriptive statistics was used for general characteristics and characteristics related to job. F-test, t-test, and x2 test were used for verification of differences. Results: 1. Scores in categories of job satisfaction were ranked for professional position(3.25), interpersonal relationship(3.19), autonomy(3.08), necessary job(2.88), payment and promotion(2.79), and administration(2.50) in order. 2. There were significant differences in age(F=3.343, p=.040) and satisfaction for current job(F=10.331, p=.000) in differences of job satisfaction by general characteristics and characteristics related to job. Conclusions: On the findings, authors suggest that more opportunities for direct nursing practice, appropriate time for the practice, and the intervention improving satisfaction for current job are needed to improve job satisfaction.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of Koryo Hand Therapy on menopausal symptoms and attitude in permenopausal women. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control- group pretest-posttes. The subjects consisted of 45 women between the ages of 40 and 60 years in the Gyeonggi-do, Korea. There were 23 women in the experimental group and 22 in the control group. In this study, the experimental group received KHT of three times a week, for a total of 8weeks. The instruments for this study were to measure the effects of KHT were the menopausal symptoms scale and attitudes to the menopause(Maoz, Downty, Antonovsky & Wijsenbeek, 1970). The data were analyzed by x2-test and Fisher``s Exact Test, Mann-Whitney U-test, Wilcoxon signed rank test procedures, using SPSS/Win PC 13.0. Results: For menopausal symptoms, there were statistically significant differences between experimental group and control group. For menopausal attitudes, there were no statistically significant differences between groups. Conclusions: This result showed that KHT was effective in decreasing menopausal symptoms in perimenopausal women.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was a descriptive study to compare of quality of life, relationship with CVA patients, and family support between caregiver of patient with CVA in western and oriental medicine. Method: Total 270 caregivers for CVA patients were selected from western medicine department (114) and oriental medicine department (156) at K hospital in Seoul. The instrument tools utilized in this study were quality of life, Family support, Caregiver``s relationship with patients, daily activity. Collected data were analyzed by χ2-test, t-test using SPSS Windows 12.0 Program. Result: The result are as follows: 1) There was no significant difference in quality of life between caregivers of patients with CVA in western and oriental medicine(t=.26, p=.792). 2) There was significant difference in relationship with patients(t=2.64, p=.009) and family support(t=2.12, p=.035) before onset of disease between caregivers of patients with CVA in western and oriental medicine. Conclusion: As a result, caregivers of oriental medicine with CVA patients showed closer relationship with patients before the onset of disease and higher family support compare to caregivers of western medicine with CVA patients.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was a descriptive study to assess the relationships between acculturative stress and current perception of stress in Korean immigrants. Methods: The subjects consisted of 154 community-dwelling Korean immigrant living in the USA. Data collection was conducted through the use of questionnaires. The instruments for this study were Acculturative stress (12 items), The Global Assessment of Recent Scale(8 items). The collected data were analysed using SPSS PC 12.0 Programme for Frequency, Percentage, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Pearson``s correlation coefficient according to the purpose of this study. Results: 1) The average item score for acculturative stress was 17.17. The average item score for current perception of stress was 26.56. 2) Acculturative stress was positively related to current perception of stress (r=.360, p<.01). 3) Acculturative stress was significantly different according to educational level (F=2.709, p=.047), occupation (F=16.202, p=.000), perceived income comfort level (F=26.666, p=.000), and type of residence (F=2.672, p=.050). The Current perception of stress was significantly different according to age (F=7.380, p=.000), marital status (F=5.354, p=.006), perceived income comfort level (F=12.738, p=.000), and type of residence(F= 4.207, p=.007). Conclusion: Theses findings help to clarify relationships between acculturative stress and current perception of stress in Korean immigrants. Therefore, the result of study provide clues for the quality of life of Korean immigrants.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the ADL and IADL of elderly in home. Method: This was a descriptive study. Data were collected from convenient samples of 76 elderly in home using ADL and IADL scales among MDS-HC V2.0 instrument from October to November. The data were analyzed using SPSS/Win 12.0 with frequency, t-test, and ANOVA at a significant level of=.05. Result: The elderly in home had performance with difficulty at bathing, locomotion outside of home, and transfer. On the other hand, the elderly in home had performance with easy at mobility in bed, dressing lower body and eating. Relation to the IADL the elderly in home had performance with difficulty at transportation, shopping, and managing finance. Conclusion; Based on the results, it is necessary to develop of a nursing intervention program and rehabilitation plan for the bathing and locomotion of the elderly in home.

Purpose: This study was to examine the applied effect of auricular acupressure therapy on insomnia for Korean elderly. Methods: Design was one group pretest-posttest measure study. Subjects were total 28 elderly with 65 years old and over in appropriate criteria. Experimental treatment was a auricular acupressure therapy during 3 days/a term, and this was applied on 4 series. Measures were sleep measurement (Cronbach``s α= .72) developed by Oh et al.(1998) and self satisfaction measurement on sleep (visual analogy scale) developed by authors. Data were collected from March 2005 to February 2006, and analyzed by SPSS PC+ 12 according to the aims of this study. Results: 1. After receiving the auricular acupressure therapy with 4 series, sleep scores were significantly increased (t=-40.600, p=.000). 2. After receiving the auricular acupressure therapy with 4 series, self satisfaction scores on sleep were significantly increased (t=-54.645, p=.000). Conclusions: Auricular acupressure therapy can be a better nursing intervention to decrease insomnia of elderly. Auricular acupressure therapy will be able to improve ultimately the quality of life for Korean elderly.

Purpose: This study was conducted to describe and analyze about the satisfaction of medical service of patients and family in an Oriental hospital. Methods: Design was the descriptive survey study. Sample was 50 patients and guardians in K Oriental hospital, and convenient sampling was used. Measure was the satisfaction tool of medical service developed by Kang(2004). Data were collected from March 2005 to July 2005, and analyzed using SPSS PC+12 program. Findings: Thirty-two(64.0%) of all subjects were female and 18(36.9%) subjects were male. Score of medical service in Oriental hospital was mean 3.70. Scores in categories of the satisfaction were ranked for medical treatment(4.12), administration service (3.58), and environment and facilities service(3.41) in order. Expectancy for quality, quality after use, general satisfaction, and sufficiency after use in Oriental hospital were 7.34, 7.56, and 7.20, and they were above the average. There were significant differences in education and “I will recommend this oriental hospital to other patients” in differences of medical service by general characteristics and characteristics related to job. Conclusions: On the findings, we suggest that the team for oriental medical service should endeavor for development of professionals and techniques in oriental medical treatment. Simultaneously, institutional administrative resources are persistently needed for supporting of oriental medical team.
